About Tissot

        Tissot introduced the first pocket watch manufactured in series and the first pocket watch with two time zones in 1853 and the first anti-magnetic watch in 1929-30. Charles-Emile Tissot went to Russia in 1858 and managed to sell soap pocket watches throughout the Russian Empire. The Tissot company was also the first to make plastic watches (IDEA 2001 to 1971), stone (granite mountain days in 1985), mother of pearl (pearl watch in 1987) and wood (the clock in 1988 ).  Tissot merged with the Omega watch making family in Tissot and Omega watches, 1930, from this period are sought by collectors
        Still based in Le Locle, Switzerland and operates in over 150 countries around the world, Tissot has been a member of The Swatch Group Ltd, the largest producer and distributor of watches in the world, since 1983.
     Tissot is the official timekeeper of the World Cup cycling, motorcycling, fencing and ice hockey, and has been used in the Davis Cup in 1957, and skiing in Switzerland in 1938. Tissot was also a major sponsor of the Lotus Formula One team, Renault and Sauber. Commitment Tissot official timekeeper was the first in 1938, where they planned a series of ski races Villar, near the birthplace of the company is the Jura.
       Tissot has become known in recent years for its tactile, or "T-Touch" technology, and several new watches have touch-sensitive sapphire and include compasses, barometers, altimeters and thermometers. T-Touch watches have been recently presented to the wrist of Angelina Jolie in the movie Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life and Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

     Famous people who have worn Tissot watches include actress Sarah Bernhardt, singer Carmen Miranda, Elvis Presley, Grace Kelly, and Nelson Mandela. James Stewart also wears Tissot watch "Rear Window" film. Actor Kamal Hassan Indian Tamil Movie Watch Tissot spent 'Dasavatharam'.
